Vision of FUSION Student Ministries
|
|
The vision of FUSION Student Ministries takes three cues from the life and ministry of Jesus. The
ultimate goal of FUSION Student Ministries is to transform students into disciples. Becoming a
disciple of Christ is a life-long process that, seeks to take hold of each student’s life at a young
age and develop the student into an increasingly mature disciple. This maturing discipleship will
take various shapes and stages through each student’s time in Fusion including:
Build Strong Families
-
Parental Involvement in the Discipleship process. Parents are the greatest spiritual
influence on their children. Parents know their children best, spend the most time with
them, love them the most, and are the mold for how children pattern their lives. The
vision of FUSION Student Ministries is to have parents present at any and all of our
events, involved with the activities and vision of FUSION, and engaged in the ministry
process with the students.
-
Formation of Mentoring Relationships. Adults and students will enter into essentially a
teacher–student relationship, a relationship that is centered in Christ, and runs deeper
than the typical teacher–student relationship. It is in these mentoring relationships
that students experience God – by being engaged in the ministry process and the Christian
walk. Students are able to watch their mentor "do" discipleship/ministry, invited to
"do" discipleship/ministry with their mentor, who supervises the student’s active
discipleship/ministry and through the maturation process challenges the student to do
discipleship/ministry on their own, so that students will be equipped to mentor/disciple
others.
Reach out to the Lost
-
Peer Care Discipleship. Peer Care Discipleship is discipleship that takes place
within FUSION Student Ministries, making disciples out of believers and reaching out to
one another. Students will all find themselves at different points in the spectrum of
Christian maturity. Students will have peer-mentors (students looked up to as leaders),
peer-accountability partners (students at the same level, holding one another accountable
to the Christian walk and the burdens God has placed on hearts for ministry),
peer-followers (students who can be reached out to, discipled and loved on).
-
Peer Share Discipleship. Peer Share Discipleship is making disciples of the
Spiritually Lost. Peer Share Discipleship is Jesus’ method of growing the church, and
expanding His kingdom. Equipping students with the tools to cultivate relationships
with spiritually lost peers in their schools, neighborhoods or families; plant the message
of Christ through each student’s actions and words; and to reap a harvest for Christ by
inviting them to events specifically designed for spiritually lost are the goals of Peer
Share Discipleship.
Grow in Grace and Knowledge
-
Consistent Opportunities to Grow. FUSION students will be given opportunities on a
weekly and monthly basis to grow spiritually, emotionally and relationally. FUSION Student
Ministries provides opportunities for students to be involved in small groups (Cell Teams),
service opportunities, Bible study, and outreach events that equip them for growth in the
previously mentioned areas.
