FUSION Student Ministries holds strongly to the ideals that the spiritual lives of the students
and families involved will benefit from honoring God through Jesus in worship, unifying and
connecting through community, and deepening and expanding the kingdom through discipleship.
From the creation of the world, God has desired our worship – and the goal of His people has been
to honor, praise and glorify Him. The goal of worship has been reached in various forms
throughout history – but with the coming of Jesus the Christ – He revealed the way to worship is
in Spirit and Truth – and this worship should be continual. FUSION Student Ministries seeks to
show students how to worship continually, explore new avenues of worship (acts of service,
concerts of prayer, etc.) and make the worship experience joyful, for we worship a living God.
The first century Church was a place people could belong. In 21st Century America, nearly all
sense of "community" has been lost. People are lonely and longing for a place to be loved.
FUSION Student Ministry seeks to: regain the sense of community that exuded from the church in
Acts 2; create and atmosphere where meaningful relationships can be established and maintained;
draw all students and families in, letting them feel loved; provide an environment where
students can share struggles, praises, daily things and be held accountable – these things are
key to connectedness, community, trust and Church.
A strongly held value within FUSION Student Ministries is that when someone is a follower of
Christ, Christ places certain claims on their lives – most specifically the claims of service
and discipleship. Every Christian is called to service or to minister, using their spiritual
gifts in the body, learning from and mentoring other believers, cultivating relationships with
spiritually lost that will result in their salvation, and much, much more. With the thought of
service/ministry in mind, FUSION Students will enter into formative relationships, through which
they are discipled for the task of ministry. Ministry and discipleship will not just happen
because it is talked about – equipping and participation are required. FUSION Student Ministries
aim is to continually equip its students, through large group training (conferences), small group
mentoring, and one on one investing, to mentor other students in FUSION, and reach out to their
peers at school, home and in their neighborhood. At each different stage of the equipping
process, students will receive different levels of instruction and will be invited to different
levels of participation. The philosophy of FUSION Student Ministries is not to
simply create spiritually mature teenagers, but to provide a foundation for a lifetime of
discipleship, ministry and ever-increasing spiritual maturity.
